Do all races end up with thin hair as they age?

So if they had thick thick hair (so thick that it stands up on it's own). will it eventually get thin and lay down even when it's short?

No, observation tells me that it tends to run in families ( Genes) and those who are over stressed.

My step-father died with all his hair and his sons are in their 50's now and loosing hair and going bald. The women keep all of their hair and so some do and some don't. Take your pick it will happen to some and not to others.

Get a Remington brand that is teflon coated! It is the ceramic plates that heat the best and most evenly but the teflon coating saves your hair from damage. The one inch is best to manage smaller sections or just individual parts i.e. bed head. The one inch is easier to manage just bangs or curve ends under a bit also. Target is the best source!

You really don't want to buy anything under 40 dollars. You should try to spend a bit more when it comes to your hair. If you go with a cheap one, they're usually made out of metal and will fry your hair. You should go with a 1 inch straightener, that's made with ceramic plates, they straighten your hair by using magnetic ions. I would buy one online at Amazon.com I would look for a CHI or a GHD.

if you have naturally straight hair you probably dont need a heavy duty straightener. i revlon or conair from like Target would probably do the trick. A smaller straightener like a 1 inch would also be better if all you need is to touch up a little.

Well for that budget, definitely get the Remington Wet 2 Straight flat iron, which you can by at Target, Walmart, Ulta, basically everywhere that sell a wide variety of flat irons. I'm pretty sure it's 40 bucks, if not, it's cheaper. And if you have short hair, then you want a one inch flat iron. If it's longer than above your shoulder, then you want a 2 inch.

well, i think the only reason to cut off all of your hair would be to get rid of bad damage, but if you get products like thickening shampoos and conditioners from pantene pro-v or any other "known" product with a thickness line, it should help you out.

long hair will be great if you have fine and thin hair... no need for a second thought.

Shorter then your shoulders, because anything longer can look stringy. I kept trying to go long, and always end up just above the shoulders or shorter. A good stylist can do a razor cut to make it appear you have more volume. Plus you have to use the right products!

Not sure of photos but look through mags for styles you like and talk to a stylist you trust.

Try getting your hair thinned at any hair shop, but it's something you'll have to "keep up" on, otherwise it will grow back and seem thicker.

i am your salvation. i am a black/white female and my hair is a thick as a horse tail. and shinny and new the only thing i use is Organic root stimulator. It is an Olive oil sheen spray it comes in a green canm.and you can buy it at any drug store. it cost about $3 to $6.00 depending where you buy it. it will give your hair the most beautiful shine and it really grows. Hi Kolisha, I am a sister with thin hair too. As a matter of fact, all the women in my family have thin hair. My 3 sisters keep weaves in their hair and my mom has an afro. I used to wear my hair permed and short (like Judge Mablean Ephraim on Divorce Court), but the maintainence was too expensive and time consuming. I then cut it real short and put a texturizer (S-Curl) on it-this I loved because it was easy to keep up and all I had to do was go to the barber shop and then texturize it myself. Though it was short, my hair looked thicker because it was not straight. Color will only make your hair appear thinner and may make it more fragile. You could try a cellophane, its a great conditioner and its only temporary color. There are a lot of products that claim to make "our" hair grow longer and thicker, but they are expensive and I don't know anyone who has tried them. The best advice that I can give you is to embrace your thin hair. There is not much you can do about it. For the last 3 years, I have been growning dreads. Because my hair is so thin, I did not think it would grow or look full. Let me tell you--my hair has never been so healthy! Its grown past my shoulders and it is fuller and longer than it has ever been. Keeping your hair in its natural state is the best thing that you can do for your hair.
