I don't believe the brand is important. The barrell size is only important to determine curl size. I believe the important thing to look for is a curling iron that has different temperature settings.. A curling iron that I would use with a very high temperature for my super thick, wiry hair would be way too hot for your thinner hair and could cause damage.

if you have thin hair i think it's just a matter of how often you use heated products on your hair...like the irons and hand held blow dryers. you should use as less heat as possible and use conditioners that strengthens the hair.

I have NO hair. lol. It's REALLY thin. I love my Revlon 3/4 inch barrel (like $15 at Walmart.) But it really depends on how much curl you want on the barrel size you need.

You may want to turn the heat down for finer hair. Also, a heat styling product like Tressume's Heat Tammer REALLY helps keeping it from frying, even if you are just blow drying.

Another tip, don't brush it when it's wet. Use a pick or styling comb. A brush will make hair break really bad when it's wet.
