i have the same problem! my hair is short, and i have very fine hair but lots of it =\ with thin hair it will tend to curl especially if theres alot of moisture in the air ie been or is raining.
try using protection products to use after washing your hair. they have special ones for straight hair. also buy shampoo etc for hair that curls to make it straight. all these help.
but after along day your hair starts to curl, today my hair stayed straight all day (which is odd ) =) so try carrying a comb with you and back comb it just slightly every now and then.
use bed head manipulator- its great for al sorts of styles and hold hair really well. plus adds volume when applyed correct
