should I go for a dark color like dark brown or black, or should I go for a lighter colore, if I want to make it look thicker?

I dont think ironing your hair would be doing it any good, maybe you should stop that, if you have some body to your hair it would look thicker surely, more than straightened hair. Lighter hair would make your scalp less noticeable.

Well no color is really going to make your hair look necesserrally "thicker" but a lighter color might work better because a dark color such as black would look weird with thin hair for when you can see your scalp. It also depends on your skin color. So, the lighter your skin, the lighter your hair should be. If you hae dark thin hair and dark skin, leave it.

if its really thin, and ur skin is light, i think your hair should be lighter, so u dont see the juxstoposition between the light exposed skin on your scalp and the dark hair. if you have dark skin, i think dark hair would be better.
