Layers good idea for straight, thin hair?

My hair is long, about mid-chest length, straight, and thin. I've been wanting to layer my hair but I'm afraid to. Some people tell me it will give my hair more volume and will look great, but others tell me that it's a bad idea. What do you think I should do? Thanks.

Get the layers! It will make your hair not only look fuller but adds life to the hair. It will look great. Ask your hairdresser on his/her opinion. They're the experts, but I say go for it.

i have TONS of layers.

and my hair used to be straight, but when i got layers it got a little wavy and i had to start straightening it. and then it got even curlier from damaging it. it looks very cute, but it is a pain sometimes.

i dont if i should get layers, or cut it to about my shoulders, with slight curls in them

I had the same problem before. i decided to cut it in layers and now people tell me it looks nice and i feel comfortable, so i think its a good idea.

yes- thats what i did to my plain hair and it made it more volumized

girl that would look great. i have layered blond hair and believe me it was a big change, but a better choice than strait flat. Layered hair gives ur hair more volume and attracts more attention. plus a lot of models have layered. layered is the way to go
