i have barely-shorter-than-shoulder-length hair that is thin and fine. i have bangs and my hair is blonde, but i want to keep my bangs down if possible (because my face looks too long w/o them).

my hair will NOT hold a curl at all. so don't tell me i just need to curl it. my last updo was okay, but it wasn't very flattering to my face shape (round/square)

I would suggest something like the links I have added below for a straight haired girl. Something with that funky, choppy look. But that's just my personal preference. :)

Mm, pinned but not curled? That's what my hairdresser did to my hair with my last updo. Yeah, I can find you some of those.

These ones are all pretty varied and I don't think you need to have curls for any of them, really. Hope one works for you!

Look, if you have a good hairdresser, she will be able to style your hair until you like it. She should have the experience to tell what looks good. If she doesn't - then find a new one/hair stylist.

first you need to use setting lotion and put curlers in. during the updo, you need a lot of teasing and hairspray.

keep the bangs%26amp;if your hair is too short to do anything with it maybe try extensions? they usually look really nice :]

try a french twist with the ends left out on top, scrunch the ends with hair spray giving it a little wild look I do this all the time on young girls, you can also do an upside down french braid and do the same thing with the ends also very cute. hope this helps and if your stylist doesn't know what to do go somewhere else.
